Capital City Blues Festival Tickets
DAR Constitution Hall | Washington, District Of Columbia
Blues Is Alright, and some of the best performers in the genre are headed to DC to prove that! This year marks the 6th Annual Capital City Blues Festival. Some new faces, as well as veterans of previous festivals, will be taking over the DAR Constitution Hall on Saturday, February 22nd. There's no other way to put this: you won't be able to find another show with as much flow and good vibes as this one. King George, Puka, and Pokey Bear are among the performers who are once again going to be on stage in DC.
This year, though, marks the first appearance for West Love. She's looking to provide that much-needed girl's touch on the night. Before you know it, you'll be dancing in the aisles and on the upper level at the DAR Constitution Hall come February 22nd. With this being the 6th annual Capital City Blues Festival, a lot of locals here in DC know what to expect already. If you've never been to one of these shows, perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind is that the vibe remains the same regardless of who's on stage. Sure, certain performers are going to be up there with much more upbeat tracks. Some of these guys are going to blow you away with the powerful voices that they bring to the stage. Others will jump into the crowd and love to dab up with people here and there. The point is, the entire show is a "good vibe" zone!
Some of these tracks can cut deep! There's certainly some melancholy as part of the Blues in general. At the end of the song, however, the performer is going to have a smile on their face from ear to ear. That gesture alone puts everything back on track as what this is meant to be! A night where DC locals are able to come out to the DAR Constitution Hall and just vibe as if they were in their favorite Blues bar in the city or back in their hometown. This music can evoke a ton of emotions, and there's no shame in getting a little overwhelmed at one point in the night. When it's all set and done, though, you'll likely leave the DAR Constitution Hall with a smile on your face, hoping you'll be here next year for the 7th annual Capital City Blues Festival!
Where are the best spots inside the DAR Constitution Hall for this event? Anywhere on the floor level gives you a chance to interact with the performers. Some guys really love walking around the crowd. Also, the upper-level seating provides full command of the stage, and those spots help you not feel as "crowded." If you're worried about your personal space while still wanting to enjoy the show, this may be where you want to be. February 22nd might come around sooner than you expect.
