Yolanda Adams is an American gospel singer, record producer, actress, and radio host. She has been a major figure in the gospel music industry for over two decades and is one of the most successful gospel artists of all time. Adams has released a number of successful albums, including "Mountain High…Valley Low," "Believe," and "Day by Day." She has also won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards, four Dove Awards, and a Soul Train Music Award. Adams began her career in the late 1980s, when she was signed to a record label and released her debut album, "Just As I Am." The album was a success, and it established Adams in the gospel music industry. She followed up with her second album, "Through the Storm," which was even more successful than her debut. Adams continued to release successful albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, and she became one of the most successful gospel artists of all time.
On the other hand, Donnie McClurkin is best known for his hit gospel songs such as "Stand," "We Fall Down," and "I Need You." McClurkin has won three Grammy Awards and has been nominated for numerous other awards. McClurkin was born in South Carolina and grew up in a musical family. He began singing in church at the age of three and was soon performing in local talent shows. He attended college at South Carolina State University, where he studied music and theater. After college, he moved to New York City and began performing in clubs and on the radio. McClurkin's career took off in the late 1990s when he released his self-titled debut album. This was followed by "Again" (2003) and "Duets" (2014). He has won three Grammy Awards.
In this year's Mother's Day Celebration: Yolanda Adams & Donnie McClurkin, the two legendary gospel artists, will be preaching through songs and celebrating Mother's Day at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. on Friday, May 12.
