DAR Constitution Hall
Homayoun Shajarian, the son of Persian music legend Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, comes back to DAR Constitution Hall on Saturday, 16th November 2024. Just like he did in his performance in June, he's bringing Anoushiravan Rohani along with him. These two have been touring and making music as a duo for a few years now. In fact, they've put out two singles recently titled "Maybe I Maybe You" and "Ey Yareh Mare." The second track is a song that they first played live at one of their tour stops, just like the one they'll have at DAR Constitutional Hall in DC in mid-November. Who knows, maybe they'll debut another song on this date in DC.
If you want to be sitting inside the DAR Constitutional Hall to see one of the top duos in Persian music who are getting a second date because of how well the summer show went, you know what you need to do! Hit that get tickets button and find your seats for this event.
The classical touch that both Homayoun Shajarian and Anoushiravan Rohani bring to their songs is what sets the mood for the entire event. In fact, Anoushiravan Rohani at the piano and Homayoun Shajarian on the mic create a vibe that's very 50s and 60s music. It's not that their songs evoke memories from that time through their lyrics, but one performer on the piano and the other immaculately dressed providing the vocals in a concert hall with as much history as DAR Constitution Hall? You can't help but see the similarities. Persian music, or at least the acts that make their way to the West, have leaned a lot into electronic and dance music. There are very few artists who sing in the language and provide concerts in the US that are going to bring that somber tone and classic tunes to their performances.
Knowing this, it wouldn't be odd to see a more mature crowd settle into the DAR Constitutional Hall this Saturday, November 16th, to see Homayoun Shajarian. It's a good idea to head to this event with your partner and leave the kids at home. This type of music is best enjoyed slowly, like a good glass of wine. In fact, if you combine a nice drink with the tunes that are going to be coming from the stage, your entire experience at this concert is going to be turned up a notch.
A traditional concert hall like the DAR Constitutional Hall in DC and these two performers are a match made in heaven. Audiences agree, that's why they're having them come back to the nation's capital not even six months after their last performance here. This could be a great opportunity to find a spot in the upper levels and almost treat this event like a night at the opera. It's not that far behind in class by any stretch of the imagination. Of course, you may have to fight off the urge to sit close to the stage. Those places are always good regardless of who's performing. Hit the get tickets button to claim your seats for this Saturday night showcase. Grab your partner and head out to this legendary theater to enjoy one of the best shows that Persian music has to offer.
